Grant
Program and Special Projects
On
March 1, 2002, the NTSHF formally initiated a
Grants and Special Programs office. The purpose
of the new office is to create a working database
of potential foundation and corporate donors and
supporters and to identify, develop and fund special
projects that support the Foundations' mission.
In
June of this year, the NTSHF Executive Committee
approved a list of three projects to be developed
as grant application proposals. The list includes:
•
an Interactive/Multi-media K-12 Science Education
Program to be installed at the Nevada Atomic Testing
History Institute (NATHI) in Las Vegas;
•
a pilot Women's Oral History Project to preserve
the experiences and perspectives of women workers
at the Nevada Test Site from the 1950s through
the cessation of nuclear testing in 1992, with
the possibility of expanding the project to other
U.S. Department of Energy sites; and
•
a series of public forums to be sponsored by NTSHF
that will address issues of world importance related
to nuclear science, nuclear disarmament, and nuclear
non-proliferation issues.
Activities
related to development of all three of these efforts
are current and ongoing. CLICK

any of these projects.
