Atomic
Testing Museum Director Selected
Arthur
H. Wolf, a former director of the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society,
has returned to Las Vegas as the Atomic Testing Museum's (ATM) first director.
Wolf was hired for the post by the Desert Research Institute (DRI), which
serves as the administrative management group for the ATM.
During
his career, Wolf has gained significant experience in museum collections,
public programs and major exhibitions for diverse audiences. Most recently,
he served as president and chief executive officer of the Museum of Northern
Arizona in Flagstaff. Wolf's other key assignments have included the role
of president of the High Desert Museum in Bend, Oregon; director of the Museum
of the Rockies at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana; and director
of the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, New Mexico.
Wolf
holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
and a Master of Arts in anthropology with a minor in museum studies from the
University of Arizona.
